Privacy Policy.

Last updated: 13 June 2026

In plain English: We collect the minimum information we need to provide accounting services and respond to enquiries. We do not share your mobile number or SMS opt-in with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Full clauses below.

1. Who we are

FC Accounting Co. (“FCA”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates from L2, 1 Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead QLD 4006, Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

2. What we collect

We collect personal information you give us, including:

  • Identity details (name, business name, role)
  • Contact details (email address, mobile/phone number, postal address)
  • Business and financial information necessary to provide bookkeeping and tax services (e.g. accounting records, BAS data, ABN/TFN where required by law)
  • Communications you send us (emails, SMS replies, voicemail, web form submissions)
  • Website usage data (cookies, IP address, browser, pages visited) — see section 6

3. How we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and schedule strategy calls
  • Provide the accounting, bookkeeping, and tax services you engage us for
  • Lodge documents with the ATO and other regulators on your behalf
  • Send transactional and service-related SMS and email (e.g. appointment confirmations, document requests, lodgement updates)
  • Comply with our legal and professional obligations (record-keeping, AML/CTF where applicable, ATO requirements)

4. Mobile information — non-sharing clause

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

If you provide your mobile number through any FCA web form or sign-up, you may receive SMS messages from us only for the purposes you have consented to. Categories of SMS we may send include:

  • Appointment confirmations and reminders
  • Onboarding and document-collection follow-ups
  • Lodgement deadline reminders for your engagement
  • Replies to messages you initiate with us

See our Terms of Service for the SMS program details, including how to opt out and how to get help.

5. Service providers and subcontractors

We engage service providers and subcontractors to help us deliver the services you have engaged us for. These may include:

  • Cloud accounting software (such as Xero), receipt-processing software (such as DEXT), and secure document storage
  • SMS and email delivery providers used to send the messages above
  • Customer service and administrative support providers acting on our behalf

These providers may handle personal information solely to deliver the service you have engaged us for, and they are bound by confidentiality and data-handling obligations. They are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

6. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses essential cookies and may use first-party analytics to understand traffic patterns. We do not use third-party advertising cookies that profile you across the web. You can disable cookies in your browser; some site functions may be limited.

7. Storage and retention

We store records in reputable cloud platforms (such as Xero, DEXT and encrypted document storage) located in Australia or other jurisdictions with adequate privacy protections. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — access controls, multi-factor authentication, and encryption in transit — to protect your information.

We retain records for as long as required by Australian tax, professional, and corporate law (generally a minimum of 5–7 years after the engagement ends). After that, we delete or de-identify the records unless we are required to keep them.

8. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent (including SMS consent) at any time
  • Make a complaint about how we have handled your information

To exercise any of these rights, email info@fcaccountingco.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active clients by email. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
