The short version:If you opt in, we’ll text you only about your enquiry, appointments, and account. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe. Message and data rates may apply. Frequency varies. We never share your mobile info with third parties for marketing.
1. Program description
The FC Accounting Co. SMS program is operated by FC Accounting Co. (“FCA”, “we”, “us”) for the purpose of supporting our clients and prospective clients with transactional and service-related messages.
The types of messages you may receive include:
- Appointment confirmations and reminders for strategy calls
- Replies to messages you have sent us
- Onboarding follow-ups and document-collection requests
- Lodgement deadline reminders specific to your engagement (BAS, IAS, tax)
- Account and service updates relevant to the work we are doing for you
2. How to opt in
Opt-in to the FCA SMS program is explicit, never a default, and never required to do business with us. We collect SMS consent only through the following methods:
2.1 Website checkbox (primary opt-in method)
The primary opt-in method is the SMS consent checkbox on a public web form at go.fcaccountingco.com:
- The /contact page
- The /get-started page
Each form presents two separate, unchecked checkboxes — one for service-related (transactional) SMS and one for marketing (promotional) SMS. The full disclosure shown alongside each checkbox includes: the brand (FC Accounting Co Pty Ltd), the message types, message frequency, “Message and data rates may apply”, the HELP and STOP keywords, a carrier disclaimer, an explicit non-sharing statement, and links to this SMS Terms page and the Privacy Policy. Submitting the form without ticking the box does not opt the visitor into SMS.
2.2 Other opt-in methods
- Replying or sending an SMS to our business number to start a conversation (your inbound message itself constitutes consent to receive a reply on the same thread).
- Providing your mobile number to a member of our team and giving verbal or written consent on a recorded call or signed engagement letter.
Opt-in data — including the mobile number, the date and time of consent, the IP address and user-agent of the submitting device, the form page URL, and the specific consent box ticked — is logged and retained for the lifetime of the messaging relationship plus a minimum of two years thereafter, in line with carrier audit requirements.
3. How to opt out
You can opt out at any time. To stop receiving messages from FCA, reply STOP to any message we send you. We will send a single confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out and will not send further marketing or transactional SMS to that number unless you opt back in.
To opt back in, reply START or contact us at info@fcaccountingco.com.
4. Help
Reply HELP to any FCA SMS for help, or email info@fcaccountingco.com, or call +61 7 2142 8829.
5. Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your enquiry status and engagement. Typical volume is fewer than 8 messages per month per recipient for service-related SMS, and fewer than 4 messages per month per recipient for marketing SMS. Transactional messages (appointment confirmations, lodgement reminders) are sent as events occur.
6. Sample messages
Examples of the messages you may receive after opting in:
- “FCA: Your free 15-min diagnostic call with Kylie is confirmed for Tue 17 Jun, 10:30am AEST. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.”
- “FCA: Just a reminder your Q2 BAS is due 28 Jul. Reply Y to have us start prep. Msg&data rates may apply. STOP to opt out.”
- “FCA: Tim here — got a quick question about your March payroll file when you have a sec. STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”
- (Marketing, only if separately opted in) “FCA: New guide — 5 hospo-specific tax positions most owners miss. Read at fcaccountingco.com/guide. STOP to opt out.”
Every message identifies the sender as “FCA” (FC Accounting Co.) and includes opt-out instructions.
7. Cost
Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan. FCA does not charge you to receive SMS, but your carrier may.
8. Carriers
Supported on major Australian and US mobile carriers including Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Mobile information sharing — non-sharing clause
No mobile information, opt-in data, or consent records will be shared, sold, rented, or otherwise transferred to any third party or affiliate for any marketing or promotional purpose. The only situations in which mobile information may leave FCA’s systems are: (a) our SMS delivery provider (Twilio / our messaging aggregator) for the sole purpose of delivering the message you requested; (b) regulators or law enforcement when legally compelled; and (c) sub-processors providing customer-support or record-keeping services bound by written confidentiality obligations. None of these recipients are permitted to use mobile information for their own marketing, advertising, or list-building. Opt-in consent records are never used as a marketing asset.
10. Privacy
Our handling of mobile and personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which contains a parallel mobile-information non-sharing clause to the one set out above.
11. Changes & contact
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
